“I've always had a keen interest in bees, my father had hives and I would always help with honey harvesting, re-queening hives and even catching swarms,” Sally Richards, bee yü co-founder
Our founders, and our customers, are passionate about the responsible and ethical sourcing of the potent ingredients in our natural skincare products. We work with the leading suppliers of Manuka honey, royal jelly and bee venom in New Zealand to ensure we do no harm to the bee population.
Manuka honey can only be sourced from bees pollinating Manuka trees ‘Leptospermum Scoparium’in New Zealand, which grow in very remote, wild areas predominately in the North Island. We donate £5 from the sale of each Day and Night Crème to London’s oldest botanical garden – Chelsea Physic Garden. This peaceful oasis in Chelsea is one of the world's most important centres of plant and botany exchange. The garden houses a collection of beehives, which they use to produce their own honey as well as a bee forage; a collection of plants which attract pollinators to other crops.
Additionally, for each sale of bee yü Firming & Regenerating Face Masque, our powerful bee venom and manuka honey face mask, we donate £5 to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Whether it’s making your garden more bee-friendly, becoming a beekeeper or bee-ing savvy about the way you shop, there’s plenty of ways you can help to make the world a bee-friendly place. From jewellery to homeware, these are the brands that are creating the most buzz in saving the bees...
