Flower power: four floral oils for flawless skin

Thanks to their gentle yet potent healing properties, flowers have long been a go-to natural remedy for a variety of ailments, from headaches and digestive problems to anxiety and fatigue.

Packed with a high concentration ofvitamins and antioxidants, floral extracts have been used as a key ingredient in skincare for a range of concerns such as moisturising dehydrated skin, protecting from free radicals and even helping to fight the early signs of ageing.

That’s why we’ve harnessed the power of flowers in our natural skincare collection, with four of the best floral facial oils that are blooming with skin-loving nutrients.

1. Meadowfoam

A must-have facial oil for a myriad of benefits, we’ve included Meadowfoam Seed Oil in every one of our natural skincare products.

Produced by cold pressing the tiny seeds of the Limnanthes Alba flower which grow in woody wetlands where there is plenty of water, Meadowfoam Seed Oil is rich in nourishing phytochemicals. This helps your skin to form a barrier to lock in moisture and prevent water loss as well as deliver nutrients deeper into the layers of the skin.

One of the best face oils for dry and mature skin, it has a light feel that absorbs very quickly without leaving a greasy residue, for soft-feeling skin that’s deeply moisturised.

2. Safflower

Known for its bright yellow and orange flowers, the use of Safflower for its health benefitsgoes back as far as the time of Egyptian pharaohs. The oil pressed from the Safflower seeds is very high not only in vitamin E but also in linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid packed with other essential vitamins.

Found in our night cream and bee venom face mask, Safflower Oil can help to improve skin quality and texture thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to combine with the natural sebum in the skin, unclogging the pores and facilitating the regeneration of new skin cells. For this reason it helps to leave skin looking bright and healthy and is also a powerful natural treatment for skin concerns such as eczema and acne.

3. Camellia

This winter-blooming flower has been harvested for centuries by women famed for their glowing skin and long, lustrous hair. One of the most treasured secrets of the geisha, it has even been used to remove makeup and deeply nourish the skin.

Included in our hydrating day cream, Camellia Oil acts as a feather-light, deeply nourishing moisturiser. Rich in oleic acid and vitamins A, B, D and E as well as nourishing Omega 3, 6 and 9, it is one of the best face oils for dry and mature skin, helping to replenish the moisture lost from the skin and to keep it soft and supple.

It is also a wonder facial oil for sensitive skin since it can help to reduce inflammation and prevent free radical damag, thanks to its powerhouse of antioxidants.

4. Clover

Included in our bee venom face mask, Miniporyl, also known as Clover Floweris a wild herb that has been used in health and skincare for a long time, thanks to its wide variety of benefits.

A natural astringent, Clover Flower Oil helps to decrease sebum production and the appearance of enlarged pores, making it a particularly beneficial facial oil for oily and acne-prone skin, for super smooth-looking skin.

Clover flower Oil has also been used to treat skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis by helping to remove toxins from the body and has even been thought to reduce skin’s ageing process.
