Bee venom face masks - what’s the buzz?

When skin is lacking glow or in need of intense hydration, our award-winning bee venom face mask from our natural skincare range is the perfect place to start.

Loaded with stimulatingbee venom, nutrient-dense Manuka honey, clover flower extract & swertia chirata extract, our regenerating face masque provides superior deep cleansing and hydration coupled with anti-ageing effects.

It’s our 3-in-1 treatment for healthy, younger and radiant-looking skin. But with bee venom as a key ingredient, will it hurt? Read on to find out what to expect and why this powerful treatment should be a regular part of your skincare routine…

WHAT’S IN IT?

Bee venom

Ethically and naturally sourced New Zealand bee venom in our regenerating  face mask stimulates the skin by fooling it into thinking its being stung. The skin goes into ‘repair mode’, creating increased blood flow to boost the production of natural collagen and elastin. Skin appears plumper, smoothing and glowing.

Manuka honey

A natural antimicrobial, Manuka honey is packed with nutrients, vitamins and amino acids that boost cell metabolisms, promotes healing and helps lock in moisture, for a hydrated complexion with a healthy glow.

We only use ethically sourced high concentrations of Manuka honey from the heart of wild bush country in New Zealand, which is selected and independently tested to have a UMF (Unique Manuka Factor)rating of 20+.

Clover flower extract

Miniporyl, also known as Clover flower extract is a wild herb that has been used in health and skincare for a long time, thanks to its wide variety of benefits.

A natural astringent, it decreases sebum production and reduces the appearance of conspicuous and enlarged pores, for high definition, smooth skin. It is particularly beneficial forcombination, oily and acne-prone complexions and uneven skin tone.

Swertia chirata extract

Swertia chirata extract or SWT/7 (Swertiamarin) is gently extracted from Indian gentian leaves. It stimulates skin to promote regeneration and resurfacing and also reduces the appearance of fine lines, for smooth and supple skin.

HOW DO I USE IT?

This powerful bee venom face mask can be used once or twice a week only for plump, healthy-looking skin.

Starting with thoroughly cleansed and dry skin, gently massage the masque into the skin as you would a night cream. Leave it on for 10-30 minutes, then rinse with warm water in circular motions until all traces are removed, or for an intensive overnight treatment, rinse off upon waking.

If you have allergies, don’t forget to patch test first at least 24 hours ahead.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Here’s the part where we debunk some myths. Unless you have an allergy to bee stings, you are most likely not going to have an allergic reaction to the mask. If you have a known allergy to bees, then we do not recommend using this product.

Some tingling and redness after application is normal, since this is your skin’s natural response to the small concentrations of bee venom contained in the mask. Your skin may also feel slightly hot, but within a short time, this will fade leaving you with super plump and healthy-looking skin which feels intensely hydrated.

So, do not panic if you start to see redness, feel some tingling and heat, this is just your skin's natural reaction to the bee venom. But keep in mind that your skin might need some time to look and feel calm, so best not to apply 10 mins before you want to leave the house! Once you have washed off the face mask (after 5-10 mins), we recommend using a soothing moisturiser such as our hydrating day cream or intensive night cream.
